Bug Life
“If we and the rest of the back-boned animals were to disappear overnight, the rest of the world would get on pretty well. But if the invertebrates were to disappear, the world's ecosystems would collapse.”
Sir David Attenborough
We are warned of the demise of the natural world and in particular that of invertebrates. They are dying out at a more rapid rate than any other life form and we may be hurtling towards a world with few pollinating insects. I approached the charity Bug Life and offered to promote their work, they created a page on their website for donations from the sale of my ceramic tiles, tea cloths and lino cuts and together we raised £1,041.09, which was match-funded by the landfill tax 10-to-1, so the combined efforts raised £10,419, thanks to everyone’s generous support.
